MonkBar (Burp Castle)

41 East 7th Street
NYC, NY

Small, dark elegant bar with an excellent selection of beers, including many belgian lambics. Stained glass, dark wood, candles and gargoyles coupled with medieval and renaissance music make this a great place for a date or a friendly chat. The staff are dressed as monks and many of them seem to greatly relish being in character. Pay no mind when they ask you to tithe at the gate. Caveat: they do card, often for 23 or over, if it's busy. Standard prices for microbrews, etc.
